A scene from the music video i want to point out. Visual working with soundtrack. In this clip i am looking at two things:
The first scene, clapping hands together, looking at the impact expressed when the hands connect. The dramatic change in colour for a split second adds more action to the impact, and really makes you feel the hard hitting motion. The color change plays an important role in this, changing from colour to black and white. The black and white frames show the moment of impact. In sequence with the animation, it expresses a sudden flashing, which is very eye catching, and action packed.
Currently i am editing my DO lectures ident, and am looking at how i can show impact on footage i have of my mate playing drums. This video is a great help, and is something i am experimenting with to show the moment of imapct when the drums are finally hit. This show is aimed to show suspense, so when that moment of impact comes into play, the visual must be intense!

The second thing i am looking at in this clip, is the scene with the gorillas moving in sequence back and forth, complimenting the music. As it compliments the rhythm of the music, the movements have been expressed with a certain jerky, fast moving effect. There is little use of easing in the animation, and frames do not blend together realistically. i like the way the gorillas move slower on the approach towards the screen, and then faster when moving away from the screen. Successful way of using the same scene- playing and reversing the scene to compliment the music.
This is interesting to me at this period of editing my work, as the movement is unrealistic and expresses a very unique movement, which i will be experimenting with in my work. As mine is live footage i will be doing this by time remapping the footage and cutting it, to express some of these surreal movements.
