Robbie_by Edwin Schaap

This was created as a project for his college degree in animation, Edwin is only 21 and has been using CGI programmes since the age of 12. Hes very well known for his skills, hes had a lot of publicity and is well respected on websites like youtube for his creativity and originality.

I think this piece carries everything, from technique to creativity, and includes great composition and directing. In just the first few seconds of this video you can see how Edwin has a very unique way of composing his animation. In just that first introducing shot you can clearly see what Edwin is aiming towards: I think the direction gives the piece a sophisticated twist, but still remains playful, cute and infantile.

There is a great sense of professionalism coming from his work, and is very clear what inspires his work, for example i can sense some Pixar influenced direction in the piece.
