Flash test - film and animatoin

Once imported the video into time line in Flash, i created one single layer and drew over the film, editing it every 5 frames. Resulting in this rough jerky movement. I like this style, however i don't feel i executed it in a professional way. A very different approach than that i took with my 'groovy peas,' where i used symbols. I would like to pursue this method further and see how i can adapt my this to my idea.
On reflection to this idea i want to explore outside of Flash. Experimenting with using stop frame and editing each frame manually. Getting more of a defined look. Using graphite or charcoal or burning holes the image may be a possibility.
