I love how artistic the settings are, and how Stanley Kubrick experiments with obscure viewpoints in his directing. One of the scenes that sticks out to me the most is the bathroom scene. This is because the setting of the scene is completely different from any other part of the film, using a design of a red and white color scheme and block shapes to give it this unique appearance.
The use of high key lighting also makes this scene stand out because it exposes a lot of detail and creates the vision of an open and more airy environment. This use of lighting is a great way of creating a different mood and sectioning off the other parts of the film. It takes the audience into an alternative setting to help remember and reflect back on this pacific segment of the film.
