This is the opening title sequence to the Steven Spielberg film, 'Catch Me If You Can.'

Oliver Kuntzel and Florence Deygas are French artists, who started their work in 1990. They started off creating music videos for bands such as 'Sparks', 'Bertrand Burgalet', 'Fantastic Plastic machine.' and more. They then began getting recignition for their work from the advertising industry, creating TV adverts and posters for companies such as 'Coca Cola' and 'HSBC Bank.'

This a well known piece, for its original style. I was drawn towards this piece because of its sophisticated qualities. I love the use of colour schemes, that alternate to create different scenes and introduce a different mood. Great expressions of line and basic shape, with little detail in the animation. Reminds me a lot of the work of Saul Bass.

The contrast in colours is something i recognized first: It has a suttlle contrast. The colours are bold, but are easy on the eye. For example, the sky blue, contrasting with the white aeroplanes. The limitation of blue, black and white (and a tiny bit of yellow) colours, all in one scene, is part of what gives this animation its originality.

Its something which the audience can really sink their teeth into, and recognize as artistic and creative. Drawing their attention to the film, and hinting on what awaits them in the feature film. This informs me the film is classy, colourful, exciting, fast moving. There's defiantly a busy vibe to it, hinting the film is based in a City.
