Schism

Some insteresting references in the texture, such as the stone looking bodies having this marbled interior, which begins to take the shape of veins through transition of color, which is later shown in close up (around the 3 min mark.) Very provoking look at the body, relating a material and texture. Makes me think about how i can make a link between the body and chocolate? And in a way that is clear - the use of close up in `Schism,' helps establish the connection.

At this point in my research into expression of the human body, i am looking into HOW ELSE i can express it? Or CHANGE the nature of it. This music video titled 'Schism'- by the band 'Tool,' looks at the human body from a very obscure angle, and expresses surreal gesture through it.

The video changes the movements/ balance/ positioning/and sometimes shape of the body. It displays it this surreal nightmarish visual, but is executed in a calm and sort of natural flowing way.

Reminds me of Anthony Gormley's installations, as his work also takes form of surrealism, in the way that he uses the human body. He also work with this idea of positioning in an obscure fashion.

Ive found the originality of this video (Schism) and Gormley's installations a refreshing look into the subject of the body, and very inspirational to my idea.
