This is an opening scene from the game 'Kane and Lynch, Dog days' In this i am looking at the editing technique used to create suspense when introducing the titles. Jump cuts are applied in a way that gives the scene a vicious bite or sting as it breaks the flow of the footage. Also it compliments the direction of the scene, based on the motions of a hand held video camera (home video style).
This editing technique is something nice and refreshing to discover as it introduces new techniques, and sparks new ideas into how i can compose my idea.
